Former US President Donald Trump sees his cryptocurrency portfolio soar spectacularly, surpassing $33 million thanks to a surprise airdrop of the popular meme token TROG.
Trump’s portfolio sees a huge boost thanks to TROG
According to data from the analysis platform Arkham, Trump’s crypto wallet it literally doubled in value to over $33 million after receiving half of the total supply of the TROG memecoin.
This it now represents the leading crypto asset of the former president with over 210 billion TROG coins worth almost $20 million.
The MAGA Coin remains, however, its second largest crypto asset, approaching $8 million. His highly publicized NFT collection also netted him $3.2 million in Ether (ETH) and Wrapped ETH (WETH).
Trump’s increasingly strong support for the crypto ecosystem!
This sudden influx of digital wealth is just the latest addition to the growing ties between Donald Trump and the world of cryptocurrencies. A few weeks earlier, his campaign had confirmed its intention to accept Donations in BitcoinEthereum and other cryptocurrencies through Coinbase, thus demonstrating its support for the sector.
His portfolio had already increased recently following a wave of donations from supporters during his recent judicial conviction, seen as a way to express their support.
Furthermore, Trump had organized an event dedicated to his NFT collection “Trump Cards” at his Mar-a-Lago complex, demonstrating his growing interest in this asset class.
With a now substantial cryptocurrency portfolio and demonstrated support, Donald Trump appears on track to become a key player in the crypto ecosystem if it wins the presidency in 2024, thus influencing future regulatory directions.
