The Solana network is seeing a revival as Phantom Wallet introduces Bitcoin ordinal support to its platform. In a major announcement on X, Phantom says that Bitcoin support is no longer in beta and is available to everyone.

The integration of Bitcoin ordinals

With the unveiling, users no longer need to rely on centralized exchanges or unknown wallets to collect ordinals, as everything can now be done seamlessly and directly on Phantom. According to the platform, its team of developers has been dedicated to improving the Bitcoin experience since the beta launched in December 2023.

Users will notably benefit from improved integrations on the platform and will be free to buy and sell Ordinals and BRC-20 through a variety of applications, including Magic Eden, Atlas 3, Ordinal portfolio and UniSat. Others are BeFi Labs, Matrica Labs, Ordiswap, Hello and Gamma.

Solana proves to be a draw for these platforms given its low-cost and high-speed network.

Recently, the online payments giant PayPal has extended its stablecoin, PYUSD, to the Solana network. Although PayPal was initially launched on the Ethereum blockchain, the adoption of Solana is a big step forward in the expansion of the online payment platform.

Solana is also gaining credibility in the payment processing industry. These benefits have helped shape its DeFi ecosystem, with total value locked (TVL) climbing to $10.18 billion from $3.8 billion in January.

Complete crypto management on Solana Phantom Wallet

Some important key features that Phantom Wallet users can expect to take advantage of include recursive signups like those of Gamma. There is also ledger compatibility. With this, the mobile app and browser extension now support ledger device connection, allowing users to securely manage their Bitcoin, Ordinals and BRC-20 in a single account.

Additionally, the Collectibles tab allows users to discover and manage rare sats, check total sat quantities, and view “satributes” for each UTXO. This allows sending rare sat UTXOs in just a few clicks. Phantom also offers simple address management, enabling Native Segwit, Taproot, or both. So users can also view rich Ordinals metadata, including key details such as sat number and registration ID.

With this return, Phantom instantly simplifies the process of transferring and purchasing Bitcoin. Users now have the ability to manage Solana, Ethereum and Bitcoin all in one place, providing a complete, streamlined experience for all their crypto needs.
