Monday morning has been quiet so far, near the top of the cryptocurrency charts, as most of the largest coins by market cap are trading either sideways or slightly lower. Solana is the notable exception, up almost 5% over the past day.
Solana is currently trading at $154pushing its gain over a week to more than 12% by data from CoinGecko. Like many cryptocurrencies, Solana had a rough month, falling from a high of $184 to a low of almost $120 during this period. But things have picked up over the past week, with gains outpacing those of Bitcoin And Ethereum.
This is also true over the last 24 hours, with Bitcoin priced at $63,650down more than 1%, while Ethereum is down more than 2% at $3,092 as of this writing. Over the past week, Bitcoin is up 1.3% while Ethereum remains down 2.6%.
Extending to the top 100 coins by market cap, a few of the biggest gainers are also deployed on Solana. JUP, the token of decentralized exchange aggregator Jupiter, is up 6% today to a current price of $1.14, while the same coin dog hat (WIF) is up almost 5% at $3.43.
Solana’s recent revival also comes as the network sees an increase in the number of new tokens deployed via the network’s SPL standard. On Saturday, 14,648 new tokens were deployed on Solana via data from Solscansetting a new all-time high, and every day over the past two weeks has generated at least 10,000 new tokens on the network.
