Japanese exchange hacked to raise around $320 million to buy Bitcoin (BTC)
Japanese Crypto Exchange DMMBitcoin plans to raise 50 billion yen ($321 million) from group companies and invest the funds in purchasing the largest digital asset to recover customers after suffering a major hack.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the platform said it will “take care” to avoid impacting the Bitcoin market with the planned purchases and added that an investigation into the cause of last week’s “unauthorized exit” is ongoing.
