Bitcoin (BTC) Price Drops Below $62K Ahead of US Inflation Numbers
Bitcoin fell below $62,000 during the European morning on Tuesday, losing around 1.63% in 24 hours. The CoinDesk 20 Index (CD20), a broad measure of the digital asset market as a whole, fell nearly 1.1%. Ether fell more than 2% to just above $2,900, while Solana remained largely unchanged at $145. Over the next 24 hours, attention will turn to US inflation reports. The latest Producer Price Index (PPI) is scheduled to be released at 08:30 ET today and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) will be released tomorrow. Stubbornly high inflation has already put an end to hopes of rate cuts in the US, which could have the effect of a handbrake on risky assets such as cryptocurrencies.
