Algorand Launches Ethereum in Anthony Scaramucci Featured Announcement
The Algorand Layer-1 blockchain released an advertisement that criticized Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL) for their high cost and slow speed. The advertisement presents Algorand as a better alternative in terms of speed, low cost and efficiency.
Algorand takes L1 rivalry to a new level
Algorand is one of the most revered blockchain networks, however, its luster has waned in recent years. Blockchain has taken a backseat in part because higher-profile alternatives like Solana have emerged with major industry support.
According to data from crypto analytics platform DeFiLlama, Algorand currently boasts a total value locked (TVL) of $156 million. For comparison, Ethereum’s TVL stands at $117.85 billion, while Solana’s is valued at over $10 billion. The ad could be a testament to Algorand’s efforts to change its outlook, as it suggests it can facilitate more business transactions.

The advert features a supermarket setting with different checkout engagements. A shopping center customer said he would like to make payment with Bitcoin (BTC). Two others have also tried with Ethereum and Solana. However, transactions for these alternative blockchains have failed.
The mall attendant informed the Bitcoin payer that the transaction could take another 27 minutes to settle. Additionally, she informed the Ethereum payer that based on the “peak gas issue,” the cost of just 3 items was $112. While the payment domiciled in Solana failed several times, another queue where customers paid with Algorand’s ALGO was moving very quickly.
That’s when Anthony Scaramucci walked over to the attendant’s desk to ask her how to get into the moving line.
Ads become the crypto message
TV, roadside and social media ads are quickly becoming the order of the day in the crypto ecosystem. While many crypto exchanges have shined with their advertisements in Super Bowl 2022 eventthe enthusiasm died for a while with the crypto winter.
The culture returned on the eve of the Bitcoin ETF spot approval in January. From Bitwise At BlackRock and Grayscale Investments, each issuer has found a way to connect with its target audience.
The latest ad released by Algorand has the community buzzing, especially as it captures the reality of transactions on Ethereum and the unexpected congestion issues on Solana.
